Getting the Day Started Early

As a general rule i don't ever do the yard work before 8am to be considerate of the noise it makes. But today i knew it was going to get to 105 and so i got up early and did the yard at 6.45 am and done by 8.30. All before the sun came up and started to get hot. So far i have no complaints from anyone. It was great to get done so early! I am not sure where the 8am thing started but i have heard it from many people. So if you are out there doing your yard work early, before the 8am, good for you! It was actually good to be up and going so early...that being said by a night owl and no early bird riser here!

Digital Blues

I captured this video with my digital camera! I have a Sony Cyber Shot 7.2 that does incredible video i purchased at Sam's for $199. This band was the lead band for James Cotton a long time well known blues man that plays harmonica. I was not real impressed with James Cotton himself although a big blues legend. However, his band was very good and put on a great show. This was taken at Night at the Brazos downtown Waco and proved to be a fun event! We were new to Waco and not very big on the town but with these types of events it has begun to grow on us.

I Phone Deprivation

I am not actually deprived from an I Phone, i have just chosen to not upgrade right now. The phone i have right now is a flip phone that works really well for me actually. It does what i need! Yeh i know your I Phone does it all but who needs all that stuff? My son does blogging about cell phones and has an article and has one on the new Apple G3S. Go to www.symbian-guru.com and you'll see it. He has a lot to say about it but i think he still prefers Nokia's! So for now i think i will stay where i am at...even though all the other staff guys at church have one.

Wondering where that name came from? My old boss Roger Hollar is one of the best blues harmonica player around. He rivaled pros like James Cotton and Zack Reynolds! We played in a band together once and soloed together on occasion! He is the original Blues Chaser and so i follow in his footsteps only to be junior to him. NO i don't play the harmonica i play guitar and struggle to crank out any type of noise that sounds like the blues. I love the blues! I don't really follow the words to well just the guitar licks. Of course i have been passionate about all types of music since early teen years and have never been one for the words over the the music! Growing up in the 70's was to me one of the greatest musical era's ever. I looked more at the music than i do the artists themselves and what they stood for. ie. Allman Brothers were some of the greatest musicians ever and were masters at southern rock. I assume my blog will be alot about music!

When I'm 54

Where did the time go! Facing the ripe old age of 55 is scary and i am wondering where DID all the time go and so quickly! A n old blogger i am now! Why just a few years ago no one knew what blog meant or was...and now here i am blogging to the world! Who is reading this anyways? My two sons are internet guru's and one is making a nice living from blogging and the other is getting ready to live off the internet. So here i am blogging and making no sense of it at all! Hang in there with me and we'll see what comes of it!
